Terms & Conditions

Applicable to Both Online & Offline Students - Comprehensive guidelines ensuring a structured and professional learning environment at STMA Music Academy.

General Terms

Acceptance of Terms

By enrolling in any course or using the services of Strumming Tune Music Academy (STMA), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept any part of these terms, you must refrain from using our services.

Modifications

STMA reserves the right to modify, revise, or update these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Any such changes will be posted on the official website and shall become effective immediately. Continued use of our services after the posting of modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Eligibility

  • Individuals must be at least 18 years of age to independently enroll and participate in our courses.
  • Minors (under 18 years) must have the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian throughout their learning journey.
  • For offline classes, a guardian must accompany the minor for the first orientation and ensure the child's adherence to the rules thereafter.

Legal Compliance

All users are expected to comply with local, national, and international laws when using our services, whether online or offline.

Right to Refuse Service

STMA reserves the right to deny or terminate services to anyone who violates these terms, engages in inappropriate behavior, or disrupts the learning environment.

Non-Transferability

Enrollment, course access, and services are strictly non-transferable. Students are not permitted to transfer their classes, access, or materials to another individual without academy consent.

Language of Instruction

Courses will be conducted in English, Hindi, or bilingual format, as per course structure or student preference.

1. Admission & Enrollment

  • Admission is confirmed only upon full registration and fee payment.
  • Students must fill out the admission form accurately with valid personal and guardian contact details.
  • A valid ID proof (online and offline) is mandatory at the time of registration.
  • Age-appropriate courses must be selected; special audition may be required for advanced levels.
  • Admission does not guarantee re-enrollment unless formally renewed before course expiry.
  • The academy reserves the right to reject admission without assigning reasons.

2. Class Scheduling, Timings & Attendance

  • Classes are conducted as per a pre-scheduled calendar provided during admission.
  • Students must adhere strictly to their allotted time slots. Changes are subject to availability and must be pre-approved.
  • Late arrivals of more than 20 minutes may lead to class being marked as "No Show."
  • Regular attendance is crucial. Students missing more than 6 classes per month without notice may face course suspension.
  • Offline classes are conducted on designated weekdays; practice sessions are separate and not counted as classes.
  • Online students must log in 2 minutes before class start time.

3. Course Validity

  • Crash Course (8 Classes): Must be completed within 60 days from the first class.
  • Intensive Course (24 Classes): Must be completed within 120 days from the first class.
  • Professional Course (48 Classes): Must be completed within 240 days from the first class.
  • Extensions due to illness, examination or emergency may be considered only with valid documentation and prior intimation.
  • Unused classes after course validity will not be carried forward or refunded.

4. Fee Policy & Payments

  • All course fees are non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.
  • Fees must be paid in full before course commencement.
  • Installment payments (if allowed) must be cleared by the due date. Delay may result in class suspension.
  • For any bounced payment or failed transaction, a penalty of ₹500 will be applicable.
  • Discounts are offered only on upfront payments and are not clubbed with other offers.
  • Fee structure is subject to change and will be updated in the new academic cycle.

5. Class Behavior & Code of Conduct

  • Respect towards teachers, fellow students, and staff is expected at all times.
  • Use of abusive language, misbehavior, inappropriate body language or harassment (verbal/physical) will lead to immediate termination.
  • Students must arrive clean, groomed, and in appropriate attire.
  • Offline students must maintain silence outside classrooms and avoid loitering in campus areas.
  • Any damage caused to institute property by the student will be chargeable.

6. Teacher & Academy Communication

  • Direct communication with teachers outside academy platforms (e.g., personal WhatsApp, calls) is not permitted.
  • All communication must go through the official STMA contact or designated coordinator.
  • Students/Teachers are instructed not to share personal contact numbers with each other.
  • Students are encouraged to ask queries within the class or through the student portal/messages.

7. Online Class Etiquette

  • Students must use a stable internet connection, headphones (if required), and keep their video on throughout the session.
  • Join from a quiet, well-lit space, dressed appropriately.
  • Backgrounds must be clutter-free and students must not attend class while lying on bed or walking outdoors.
  • Do not record or screenshot online classes without written permission.
  • Keep a pen, notebook, and required material ready before class.

8. Student Safety and Health

  • Offline: Classrooms are monitored with CCTV for student safety.
  • Medical assistance is available in case of minor injuries; a basic first-aid kit is maintained.
  • Online: Students are advised not to strain their voices or bodies beyond comfort. Consult the teacher for personalized guidance.
  • STMA is not liable for any injury or medical issue arising from home-based practice.
  • Offline: If a student has any ongoing or chronic illness, they are required to inform the academy in advance and submit complete details of the condition along with the currently prescribed medications. Additionally, students must provide the necessary emergency medicines to the academy for immediate use if needed. This is crucial to ensure prompt and appropriate medical assistance during class hours or while on campus.

9. Use of Institute Property (Offline)

  • Institute instruments may be used during class but not taken outside the premises.
  • Students are not allowed to handle studio equipment or enter the recording studio without supervision.
  • Misuse or breakage of academy property will be chargeable.
  • Music books, sheet music, and library materials must be returned in good condition.

10. Recording, Content Usage & Copyright

  • Students are not allowed to record audio/video of classes without permission.
  • All content provided (PDFs, recordings, notations, exercises) remains the intellectual property of STMA and Harshita Rewaadiya.
  • Sharing, duplicating, or reselling STMA content is strictly prohibited and is legally punishable.
  • STMA holds the right to record classes for quality, training, or promotional purposes.

11. Performance, Certification & Exams

  • Certification is awarded only after successful completion of the entire course, attendance review, and performance assessment.
  • Participation in public performances, studio recordings, and recitals is at the discretion of STMA and may require auditions.
  • Graded exams (e.g., Trinity, ABRSM, Bhatkhande, Rockschool) are optional and charged separately (not included in academic fee).
  • STMA supports student preparation but exam registration must be done before the deadline.

12. Holiday & Institute Closure

  • STMA remains closed on national holidays, select Sundays, and festival days.
  • Emergency closures (e.g., due to weather, pandemic, or technical issues) will be informed via SMS/email/WhatsApp.
  • Classes missed due to official holidays are rescheduled, but not extended beyond course validity.

13. Leave & Class Cancellation Policy

  • Leaves must be informed at least 24 hours in advance for online classes and 48 hours in advance for offline classes.
  • Emergency leave will be considered once per course only with proper documentation.
  • Only 1 makeup class per month is allowed for valid reasons. Repeated absences will not be compensated.
  • Missed classes due to late arrival or no-show in the class will be considered forfeited.

14. Disciplinary Action, Termination, Withdrawal & Suspension

  • Violation of code of conduct, plagiarism, or disrespect to staff/students will lead to disciplinary action.
  • STMA holds the right to suspend or terminate any student without refund upon repeated misconduct.
  • If a student wishes to withdraw mid-course, fees paid will not be refunded.
  • Suspension due to health/emergency can be requested with documents and is allowed once per year.

15. Policy Amendments

  • STMA reserves the right to amend policies, fee structures, or rules at any point.
  • All students and parents will be notified of such changes via email or WhatsApp.
  • Continued participation in the academy implies agreement with updated policies.
